What is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)?

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment created to assist your teenager in building skills that will help them regulate difficult emotions, urges to self-harm, and create a life worth living! DBT is designed to help individuals who struggle regulating extreme emotions, suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, negative thinking, and difficulty with relationships.

Your teen must be between the age of 13-17 years old to participate in our DBT Program.

$95 self-pay/OON or rate set by your insurance provider - 50-minute weekly individual session 


$1,200- 24 week DBT Skills Course for Adolescent **Please note this is not covered by insurance**


$400- 8 week Family support class (up to 2 support persons) **Please note this is not covered by insurance**


$25 DBT toolkit 


Payment plan options are available upon request for DBT Skills Course & Family Support Class. 10% discount offered on DBT skills course when paid in full/one-time payment.

Option 1: Full Model DBT Program 

8-week family support class for parents/guardians and 7 months of weekly individual & 24-week DBT skills course for adolescents. 


Option 2: Skills Group Only

8-week family support class for parents/guardians and 24-week DBT skills course

We provide a free 20 minute consultation. Before your consultation appointment you will be sent intake forms to complete which will assist us in evaluating during consultation if DBT is the right fit for your teen.

Must have access to secure internet connection. Family support classes & group sessions will be held via secure zoom call. All individual therapy will be held via Simple Practice Portal. 

Provider Referral Form

The following referral form is to be completed by the client’s current therapist/counselor or other health agency. Information provided on this form is stored in a secure HIPPA compliant location.

Lora completed her DBT training through Behavioral Tech: A Linehan Institute Training Company in 2019. She has provided

She has over 3 years' experience providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to include a graduate internship and professional practice in a clinical mental health setting. Lora completed her DBT training through Behavioral Tech: A Linehan Institute Training Company in 2019. She has provided DBT therapy and skills training to support clients regarding several issues such as anger management, substance use, self-harm, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, and difficulty managing relationship.

Sharon will be teaching our DBT family support class for Parents/Guardians.  Sharon is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who graduated from Rutgers University School of Social Work in 2013. Sharon has completed Behavioral Tech’s foundational training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), adolescent training in DBT, the DBT intensive training in prolonged exposure for post-traumatic stress disorder, DBT-PTSD training, and an advanced training in DBT. In addition to Sharon’s dedication to DBT and her love of skills training, she is passionate about helping those who suffer from mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression, as a result of chronic illnesses. Sharon graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with an undergraduate degree in psychology and law school from the University of Chicago. She and her husband have two adult daughters.
